About me
Hi. I’m Kristine.
I was born and raised in and around the Pacific Northwest and prior to moving to Bozeman twelve years ago I lived most of my adult life in Bellingham. I have five kids between the ages of 19-35 years old, all stunning people. I’ve been married to the kindest man on the planet for twelve years, he’s crazy smart, plays ice hockey, has four adult kids, and grew up in Toronto. We have five grandbabies, all light and life and beautiful. Things I’m into: books, road trips, the woods, cooking, Jesus, the smell of juniper, cemeteries, flower gardening, dogs, used book stores, silversmithing, and of course, time with my people.
My first counselor, a number of years ago, recommended I read Bessel van der Kolk’s book, The Body Keeps the Score, which launched me on a deep dive into an unrelenting pursuit to understand, experience, and offer to others, something of embodied healing from emotional pain, loss, heartache, and trauma experiences. I finished a master’s degree in professional counseling, spent three years in certificate programs at the Allender Center in Seattle, completed the Unwanted Guides training with Jay Stringer, and read heaps of books written by trauma theorists —all in tandem with my own deep dive into my own therapeutic process. I’ve been seeing clients for five years now and remain acutely aware of my own humanity and hold tight to Jung and Nouwen’s idea of the wounded healer. It feels nothing short of sacred to be invited into the darkest stories and spaces in a client’s life and to offer containment for their healing work. I heartily believe in the human capacity to craft a beautiful life, even in the face of remarkable adversity, especially if one doesn’t have to do it alone.
